Largemouth bass can survive in almost any type of fresh water. They can even live in brachish (or kind of salty, kind of fresh water, where a river meets the ocean) too. Therefore, you will locate bass in many different kinds of water. Bass love underwater things like rocks, trees and grass, and these are the best places to catch fish, especially the bigger ones. Different Types of Lakes
If it is a human made lake, it may also be known as a reservoir, and thus may be used to control flooding and provide downstream cummunities with water. If it is a natural lake, look for shallow spots with plenty of cover with which to hold fish. Try to find yourself in warm water, that’s where they bass like to congregate. But you can still catch them in cooler water, just make sure there is plenty of good bass habitat, as in submerged trees, grass, rocks, and the like.

Slow moving water, with nice deep pockets of water that is kind of warm and contains all the favorite bass habitat will serve you well. It is just a matter of water temperature, if it is too hot, you have a problem, if it is too cold, you have a problem. Bass tend to be lethargic in hot waters, and sluggish in cold water. They prefer water between 60 and 80 degrees.
At the end of the day, it usually isn’t finding the bass fishing waters. It’s being able to fish them. As I said before, bass like the cover, so to fish them well, you need to fish the hard spots, which means getting your line stuck often. But oh, the marvelous advent of the weedless lure! Utilize them, and get into where they bass live, and you will do well.
